My background is visual art, media and anthropology.

I have an MPhil in anthropology from The Graduate Faculty at The New School University in NYC where I did my a master’s thesis on what I called Socio-Somatic disease, in which certain diseases are replicated not by germs or virus but by discourse. I looked at hysteria and prolapsed uterus as my case studies, using material culture - stuff  like medical supplies, ads, proprietary medicines, medical journals etc- from the 19th Century in the US.
